RE: just curious, where to, and why?

Domino Server 6.0.1 Windows 2000

Where - Exchange / Sharpoint / ASP.net

Why - they feel that Domino will merge into Websphere, and the true Domino Lane will be dropped.

What I think that IBM do not really grasp, is that many companies hold onto Domino, due to its application development capabilities. Once these are played down in favour of Websphere then they will not keep Domino for mail alone.

Many small companies use Domino for mail/applications/web, basically everything. The move to Websphere would be a massive one for them.
And they feel that if they are going to do that, when they have the opportunity to re-evaluate which platfform they choose, and considering many use office, and some business specific VB applications, MS is the way they will go

Expecially as at present J2EE is perceeved to be more complicated that .NET (I dont know if that is the case but....)
